Membership is open to all individuals who satisfy both of the following (as set out in the NInTec regulations):

  • Carry out scientific research or related management and support activities,
  • Have as their host institution, or have an established employment relationship with, Instituto Superior Técnico, or with one of its Research Units, or with any other public or private institution in which IST has a stake, regardless of the type of relationship.

NInTec ‘Ordinary Members’ are those who meet the above criteria, enrol and pay their membership fee.

NInTec ‘Extraordinary Members’ are those Ordinary Members who then no longer fulfil the criteria, but continue to pay their membership fee.

Those enrolled in a 2nd or 3rd cycle IST course may apply for entry to NInTec as ‘Extraordinary Associates’ and are exempt from paying membership fees.

The membership fee was set by the Board of Directors in 2023 at €20 per year. Fees should be paid via bank transfer to the following account, with proof of transfer sent to nintec@nintec.pt)
